Campaign focus: Combat Kid

Summer is here, and anyone that owns a pet knows it can mean only one thing…the fleas are coming. Here, Emma Lea shines a spot light on one of our latest campaigns that aims to tackle these pesky parasites.

When you have domestic pets, fleas are inevitable. But for most owners, the reality of an infestation can feel like an outright war in your own home. Our new campaign for Bayer’s Advantage spot-on flea treatment aims to show owners that with regular use, the fight against fleas needn’t be complicated, it’s just child’s play!

We collaborated with Josh Trigg of Great Guns to direct the new spot which follows a young girl, her cat and their master plan to get rid of the fleas that have taken over their home.  With truly elaborate strategies that only a child’s imagination could conjure up, we’ve combined live action and animation to bring her endearing adventure to life.  But back in the real world, her dad proves there is a simpler way to protect against fleas – with a regular dose of Advantage.

Stuart Hehir, Creative Director at Pegasus says “This new campaign marks another exciting step forward for Bayer in proving that Animal Health brands can be bold with their creativity and lean to the emotive rewards of pet ownership, without sacrificing the underlying educational and product messages.”

The new spot “Combat Kid” broke in May and leads the new fully integrated campaign including TV/VoD, print, digital, PR and social which will build across the year, with activity peaking at key times during the ‘flea season’.
