Breege Kelly and Meesha La Barre look back on the last 12 months of fundraising fun with the Pegasus team.
Bake, bake and bake some more – Who doesn’t love cake? That’s why we run bake sales throughout the year to raise money for our charities. They always prove successful and our star bakers always deliver the goods, even more so when there’s the prize of being named first place up for grabs.
Boozy Bingo with Dingo Davo – We organised two boozy Bingo evenings for staff this year at local pubs hosted by our very own HR Manager Alannah. As the name suggests you play Bingo and drink alcohol (if you want) with a boozy prize up for grabs. Not only did we manage to raise lots of money for charity with ticket sales, it’s a really nice excuse to get together and have some fun.
Pride – Pride in Brighton is something we’re really proud to be part of by organising and funding the float for The Clock Tower Sanctuary. Lots of hard work goes into making this possible but we are rewarded with such an amazing day. Although organising this doesn’t add to our total, we’re able to make sure The Clock Tower Sanctuary are seen and heard at the Pride parade.
Abseils – Three absolute heroes took on the i360 this year to raise money for our charities, contributing a massive £1600 towards our total! After being postponed because of bad weather in the summer, it was moved to November where somehow the weather held out. Kesha Tansey annd Jen Lewis from our Macclesfield office, and Fran Knee-Wright from our Brighton HQ took on the 131 metre drop and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Thanks again guys!
Christmas Auction – We also ran a charity auction made up of locally gifted items and experiences, including some fantastic lots from some of our talented team. After some serious bidding wars, we managed to raise almost £800.
Charity Totes – We created charity tote bags this Christmas, which gave us a great final push for our fundraising this year. We were pleased to donate over £1500 off the back of this initiative. Our team of designers worked on the artwork for the bag and we had them printed by some local friends just across the road from our Brighton HQ. Not only that, the bags we’re made from 100% recycled materials.
All our efforts this year have raised an incredible £6,759 to help our chosen charities. Thanks everyone for your brilliant support and here’s to more charity challenges in 2020.
